Exhibition ‚Second breath‘
The past older and “outdated” artisanal details were often moved to secondary rear outbuildings. Nowadays, the secondary use of building elements is much more complicated, especially due to fire regulations and thermal insulation. The exhibition gradually developed into a specific mix of systematically arranged sets of artefacts (about 500) and built in historical details (over 100 pieces). The only elements to retain their original constructional purpose are the doors, the wooden ceilings, and the railings. Other details have been arranged to complement the furnishings of the living space. The historic doors were used also as hanging walls, screens, showcases, dividing walls, etc. Window frames can be converted into cabinets, bookcases, information boards, wooden cornices can be used mainly as shelves, etc. Part of the Museum is adapted for short-term tourist accommodation, but the museum premises are still open for lectures and excursions by appointment.
